I would like to say that I am filled with gratitude for the amazing contributions that people have made and also everyone's wonderful comments about Lawrence. He was a truly amazing man. This horrible disease needs to be stopped and we can only do this by continued research. Many thanks Lindsay Rowe
This site is a tribute to Lawrence. He was much loved and will always be remembered by all of his family and friends. He was so pleased to be able to see all three of his children graduate and was immensely proud of their achievements.
He was an incredibly gifted man and, although he specialised in medicine, was also a talented musician. He was one of those rare people that excelled in everything; from building his own car, sailing boats, flying planes and building computers. Even though he was so talented, he remained modest about his skills. He was not one to boast about his numerous achievements.
He was greatly respected at work as a Consultant Anaesthetist at the Norwich and Norfolk University Hospital. This is a recent tribute from his work colleagues:
"Many of us have been fortunate to have known Lawrence over the past several years and privileged to be able to appreciate his considerable wisdom, knowledge, skills and experiences. His gentle, quiet and calm presence was as reassuring to his admiring colleagues as it was to his patients. Lawrence will be deeply missed by us all."
So sad to hear of this. Lawrence mentored my formative years in anaesthesia in 1991. Kind, highly intelligent and humble and a good friend.
I was shocked and saddened to here of this. Dr Rowe was one of the best, an absolute legend and I feel very fortunate(as I am sure my colleagues will agree) to have trained under him at N&N. He was a fantastic mentor/teacher and he will never be forgotten. Thoughts and prayers with his family.
Rest in peace Lawrence. You were such a wise yet humble mentor and colleague! You shall be missed by many of us!
